November 2026: we are launching a Brown Bear Car Wash Ticket Fundraiser in the month of November.  You know how dirty those cars get! This is a fantastic fundraiser where if we sell 500 tickets we could earn up to $4750 for our school!  If half the kids at Barton sold just 5 tickets - we could earn over $9000!

It takes approximately $175/student to operate all the activities that we provide to Clara Barton Elementary.  If you work at a company that does matching, consider donating directly to our Fall Bobcat Fund and match your amount.  

If that isn't an option and/or you prefer your student to get valuable experience advocating for the needs of their school community, consider having them sign up to sell tickets.  

This past year we had to cut several popular items such as the Pacific Science Center In School visits due to lack of funding.  We also cut each teacher's funds for support of classroom materials and a few other areas.  We would love to go into the spring Fun Run with our fundraising secured so we can better plan for future events and activities.  

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. How will this work?
   • Families will pre-register for how many tickets they think they can reasonably sell. Tickets will then be distributed in early November. Students will sell tickets, track their sales, collect the cash (or folks can purchase right on our website) and turn in their collection forms along with the money.
2. How much money will tickets cost?
   • An average basic car wash at Brown Bear is about $12-15
   • Tickets will be sold as follows:
   • 1 ticket for $15 
   • 2 tickets for $25
   • 5 tickets for $60
   • 6 plus tickets at $12/each - you do the math
3. Will we collect cash?
   • That is one option, you can take cash, you can have friends send venmo to you personally and then you pay the PTSA, or you can have people pay directly on our PTSA website but make sure they enter the ticket numbers and student name so your child gets the credit
4. What if we can't sell all our tickets?
   • That's okay! If you find you run out of time, you may return the tickets for us to provide to another child to sell. Any leftover tickets will potentially be sold either this spring or next fall.
5. What if I run out and want to sell more tickets? 
   • That's great! Just email carwash@clarabartonptsa.org and we'll get you set up with more tickets.
6. Are there any rules?
   • Yes! Brown Bear has rules that you can not post on social media, so please work directly with your kiddos and have them do the sales, this is a way for kids to practice public speaking, and a bit of grit thrown in too. We encourage students to get creative sell to parents at the soccer pick up, consider hosting a Lemonade/Bake sale out front of Barton to draw in the crowds.  
7. When does the fundraiser end?
   • The last day to return tickets or submit funds will be Friday, December 4th  If anyone has big Thanksgiving Holiday plans - bring those tickets to sell!
